TREE REDEDICATION
FALL 2022
In the early 1980's, the infamous Atlanta Child Murders took place. Young Black children were abducted one by one, ending up dead days or weeks later. In remembrance of these children, the Gamma Kappa Chapter agreed to devote our tree on campus to the Atlanta Child Murders so that it would not be forgotten. This has resulted in a lasting, annual tradition, in which we shine a light on the child murders that took place, as well as a cause that means near and dear to us. This Fall we dedicated our tree to those impacted by Hurricane Ida and the Haiti Crisis.

We are excited to share that we will be sponsoring a Virtual Babyshower for a local expecting mother! We want to help uplift first time mother Jiniah and shower her with our best wishes as she welcomes her baby girl into the world. Jiniah has been randomly selected from an organization that one of our Sorors work with as she been impacted by homesessness. Please check out our social media pages for more information to make donations towards items for Jiniah and her baby. The deadline to make any donation of your choice is February 7, 2021. We hope that you can join us and help welcome Jiniah's baby girl at our Virtual Baby Shower via ZOOM!

CAMP DREAMCATCHER
Every summer, The Gamma Kappa Chapter visits Camp Dreamcatcher, a therapeutic camp for children who are impacted by HIV/AIDS. It is our mission to provide these children with exciting engagement and activities that help to take their mind off of their daily routines, as well as educate our campus and community on the topic of HIV/AIDS, which largely impact communities of color.
